sharp el-509a
| this appears to be a newer build of the classic sharp
scientific style of the old el-512 and el-545
era, but slightly less well made and with rubber keys. its also slightly
smaller in size which makes it quite a neat wallet style unit to carry
around in a pocket.
later the range changed style into the, more plastic, el-509d (el-531). i much prefer this original brushed metal look. the display has the same segment design which is bold and slightly slanted. this looks good, although it would have been nice to have 10 digits here rather than 8. |
