the fx-29 was a good machine, similar in look and feel but
somewhat less competent than the later fx-39. it
appears to be functionally very similar to the older fx-19.
improvements over earlier models like the fx-20
is the deg/rad/grad switch and also statistics mode, in which the memory
keys are unavailable.
conspicuously lacking from later models are things like h->hms
display, parentheses and, significantly, operator precedence. indeed,
2+3*5=25 on this machine.
models like this would sometimes suffer the sticky
button problem. it takes 2 AA batteries, or the obscure np-2m
rechargeable nicad battery pack, which is charged by the optional mains
adapter.
