casio fx-29

the fx-29 was a good machine, similar in look and feel but somewhat less competent than the later fx-39. it appears to be functionally very similar to the older fx-19.

improvements over earlier models like the fx-20 is the deg/rad/grad switch and also statistics mode, in which the memory keys are unavailable.

conspicuously lacking from later models are things like h->hms display, parentheses and, significantly, operator precedence. indeed, 2+3*5=25 on this machine.

models like this would sometimes suffer the sticky button problem. it takes 2 AA batteries, or the obscure np-2m rechargeable nicad battery pack, which is charged by the optional mains adapter.
