very unusual for commodore to make a liquid crystal display
model in the old chunky case similar to the 9r31
and green line models like the gl979d. even the
old led 776m had a smaller size.
the display has a yellow background which would indicate the second
generation lcd (after cos as used in the sharp el-808).
it has 8 digits and is powered by two AA batteries, which must have
lasted for decades (at least until they leaked). casio also went through a
stage of fitting AA batteries to lcd models exemplified by the
classic fx-82 series.
not a bad little calculator, though. i found the somewhat larger number
buttons very convenient and easy to operate. |
